The Indschīl Fund

Why does the Indschīl Fund exist?

Around five million people with a Muslim background live in Germany. However, this significant population growth has gone largely unrecognized by many Christian communities. One reason for this may be that many German communities perceive Muslims as culturally different. Additionally, many German Christians seem to find it difficult to talk about their faith with people from other cultures and backgrounds. Islam is also unfamiliar to many, making it unclear how to approach the differences or similarities.

Indschil-Fonds

This is what we achieve with the Indschīl Fund

Several Muslim background believers (MBBs) now work in the Alliance Mission’s International Work team in Germany. They care for migrant groups within churches, engage in evangelism in major cities, and lead house groups across Germany via Zoom.
In our experience, these employees are particularly well-equipped to work with Muslims in Germany because:

  • They know the culture
  • They speak the languages of the various groups: Farsi, Arabic, Turkish, Bulgarian, etc.
  • They understand the key questions Muslims tend to ask and recognize which aspects of the Christian faith are most relevant to them.

The challenge for these employees lies in establishing a network of supporters—typically the primary means of financing missionary ministry. Many MBBs lack a home church in Germany and do not have a broad network of potential donors. The contacts they build here often consist of people from their target group: migrants, refugees, or aid workers who themselves have little income.

That is why we have set up the Indschīl Fund. Anyone investing in this fund is supporting evangelization among Muslims in Germany and helping to ensure that more Muslims hear the good news of Jesus Christ and come to faith in Him.

So that Muslims may come to know Jesus.

Sharing Faith with Muslims

Good reasons to donate:

“I see the great passion and enthusiasm of my colleagues who have a deep heart for Muslims—whether because they themselves once followed Islam, or because God has given them a special love for these people. At the same time, I see a great need for greater commitment, especially here in Germany, when it comes to evangelization. Here we can also learn from other cultures that place a higher priority on a personal approach.

I am particularly grateful for my colleagues who serve here in Germany and work daily to ensure that Muslims hear about Jesus Christ and the great hope of a life with Him. Thank you for helping make it possible for them to fully focus on their ministry without needing to take on additional jobs alongside their pastoral work to support their families.”

Our International Ministry Team

What motivates me the most to evangelize is greatest command of our Lord to go and love even our enemies our light must shine and always being ready to answer for reason of our hope and faith. Freely we received we should Freely give.

My wife Tiffany was born in a Buddhist family in Vietnam and I was born in a Muslim family in Iran. Because of the Vietnam War, Tiffany moved to the USA when she was only 12 years old. I moved to Denmark right after the Islamic Revolution in Iran in 1979. Interestingly, we both were born of/in Spirit in 2001. The Lord Jesus, out of His grace and mercy, saved us both from this dark world and brought us into His light and life.I (Ebrahim) moved to Denmark as a refugee in 1983. I lived in Denmark for 17 years. I gained Electronic Engineering in Odense University. In January 2000, because of my profession I moved to the Island of Bali, Indonesia. And it was here, the Prophet Jesus became my Lord, my Savior, and my God. After 4 years in Indonesia, the Lord took me to Jordan and Syria. After a short while, God took me to England to study His Word. I gained BA and MA in Christian Theology at London School of Theology (LST). In 2010, my Lord took me to the USA. I gained PhD in Christian Theology/Philosophy at Gateway Seminary California. The Holy Spirit spoke to both of us (Tiffany and I) to move to Europe in 2019. But we did know where in Europe. We prayed and asked the Lord where in Europe. He said, “Germany.” We asked where in Germany. Our Master said, “Leipzig.” And here we are in Leipzig.Glory to God in the highest.

Back in 1984, when I came to faith in Jesus in Germany, it was a life-changing moment. In Iran, I would never have imagined picking up a New Testament, reading it, and becoming a believer. After receiving that opportunity here, I began to wonder: how do my fellow countrymen return home? As atheists, Muslims, or Christians? This question led me into full-time ministry, to reach my people with the gospel and support them in their faith so they, too, can be a testimony for Jesus.

As an Iranian MBB, as soon as I came to the Christian faith, I aspired to reach out to the other unreached Persian speaker fellows for Christ, and I have done that with honor during the last 25 years. These are unique days in Germany as displaced people are leaving restricted countries due to war or economic failure and coming here to find safety and stability.  Migration on this scale creates challenges culturally and politically, but it also offers unprecedented opportunity for the local church to fulfil local church’s missions mandate.  My vision and goal is to equip and develop the next generation Persian speaking missionaries and leaders in Europe. That makes me do what I’m doing right now as an Iranian MBB in Europe.

I recognized my calling to mission among Muslims when I realized how much God loves them and how few truly know Him. What excites me most is seeing hearts open to the gospel, lifes transformed, and true friendships formed in the light of Jesus’ love.

I began my missionary work among Muslims after leaving Islam and coming to faith in Christ. The American broadcaster Alkarma aired three episodes in which I shared my testimony. I then began sending evangelistic video clips directly to Muslims via the media. I realized that millions of Muslims were following me and that I was able to touch many hearts. I was also a source of encouragement and strength for the church community. At that moment, I realized that God had called me to be an evangelist filled with the Holy Spirit.

What inspires me to serve Muslims is the Lord Jesus Christ, who sacrificed himself for us, suffered, and gave everything so that we could live free from sin. The Lord taught us and commissioned us to be his partners in the message of salvation and reconciliation between man and God.

I was a Muslim myself and know for sure that Muslims love God. But they need to know the true God. I can work for this mission and feel a great responsibility because they are my family and my loved ones. I sincerely wish for them to experience salvation through the Holy Spirit.

It is also important that I feel this task is my calling, because I understand Islamic Sharia law and can move freely and safely among Muslim communities. I know how to convey the message to them with wisdom and gentleness—because I know that I too was a sinful person, and we all need God’s help to attain freedom and salvation.

Thank you for your support!
